My first show

Ok, laboring at the Townhouse gallery the same day as the show is not recommended. Its a time (labor) for time (gallery show) arrangement you see? Anyway, laboring same day is too physically demanding and you can't shower and change and shit (no bathroom at Townhouse). But I managed to pull it off, get some painting done on the interior and exterior of the gallery without getting injured. I got a little pissed at Esther Nash the gallery owner about providing contractor-type labor, but I kinda knew what I was getting into beforehand so it really wasn't her fault. Plus we worked through it, discussed the situation, and decided on more modest working tasks in the future. Esther is more than decent, BTW and making quite an effort to promote the gallery and emerging artists. Parking in brooklyn is a nightmare, but how else was I supposed to transport all my shit? Oh yeah, guess I could have asked my friend Frank for help. Duh. I spaced. I forgot. Oh well. As for the show...The turnout was...ah, not so great, but who cares. It was good to meet some fellow artists and exciting to actually see strangers taking in a couple pieces. I feel I may have been trying to hard to fit in and will opt tonight for a more hands off approach to the social aspects of the show. Cassi, it was great you showed up. Also nice to meet artists John, and Susan. Mike Krenner played the most soothing and original accoustic guitar all night, nonstop. Teak, I appreciate your support and awesome pictures.
